Alphonso Davies makes Bundesliga history with new Canadian record

Alphonso Davies has made history as the Canadian with the most Bundesliga appearances after featuring for Bayern Munich against Union Berlin. The 25-year-old defender made his 171st league appearance, surpassing Paul Stalteri’s previous record of 170, according to Bundesliga.com.

Stalteri recorded 151 appearances for Werder Bremen and 19 for Borussia Monchengladbach, while Kevin McKenna is third on the list with 137. Davies joined Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019 and has since won seven Bundesliga titles. His appearance against Union was also his 256th for Bayern across all competitions, with 16 goals and 41 assists.
