Dangote’s daughters: We’re not spoiled, we still have to prove ourselves

Halima, Fatima and Mariya Dangote, daughters of billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, have said their privileged upbringing did not make them spoiled, insisting they still work hard to prove themselves.

According to Premium Times, the sisters spoke during a joint interview with Bloomberg Next Africa, discussing wealth, scrutiny and their leadership roles within their father’s business empire.

They said Dangote expects excellence from them, requiring them to demonstrate their abilities despite their family name.

The sisters described their positions as privileges rather than rights, adding that being young northern Muslim women creates additional pressure to prove their worth.

They also said they avoid flaunting their wealth and prefer their professional results to speak for them.

The sisters said they remain committed to creating opportunities for women within the organisation.
