Marc-Andre ter Stegen has described his return to the Germany squad as an emotional moment after enduring two difficult years with injuries and limited playing time. According to GOAL, the 32-year-old goalkeeper has been named Germany’s first-choice goalkeeper by new manager Jurgen Klopp following Manuel Neuer’s international retirement.

Ter Stegen, who joined Ajax on loan from Barcelona this summer, said the opportunity means a lot after a challenging period. “I suffered a lot during my recovery,” he said, adding that representing Germany remains a dream and expressing his happiness at being back with the national team.
