Akpabio: I travelled to Rome to pray for Tinubu, against terrorism, banditry in Nigeria

Senate President Godswill Akpabio says he travelled to Rome, Italy, on a spiritual journey to pray for Nigeria and seek divine intervention against insecurity, banditry and terrorism.

According to SaharaReporters, Akpabio said he also prayed for President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council.

Speaking in a viral video, Akpabio described the trip as a “slight pilgrimage,” saying his Christian faith teaches that human efforts require divine protection.

He said he visited the Catholic capital, offered supplications and prayed for God to free Nigeria from insecurity.

Akpabio’s remarks come as several parts of Nigeria continue to face killings, kidnappings, bandit attacks and terrorist violence, particularly in northern communities across the country.
