Princess Diana memoir by brother Charles Spencer hits bookstores

Charles Spencer’s memoir about his late sister, Princess Diana, has gone on sale amid controversy over claims involving her former husband, King Charles III.

According to Channels Television, the 384-page book, “Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,” was released Tuesday in several English-speaking countries and translated into 12 languages.

Spencer claims Charles told him after Diana’s 1997 death that she would soon be forgotten, an account Buckingham Palace has challenged.

He also writes about Diana’s troubled marriage, mental struggles and relationship with Mohamed Al-Fayed.

Spencer said he wrote the memoir to correct what he described as longstanding untruths about his sister.

Some royal commentators have disputed elements of his account, while readers have expressed interest in obtaining fuller context from the book.
