Okpebholo: Nigerians are enjoying, petrol costs more than N3,000 per litre in UK

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has said petrol costs more than N3,000 per litre in the United Kingdom, arguing that Nigerians are “doing very well” despite the current pump price in the country, according to Tribune

Okpebholo made the claim on Thursday at the “Operation Rescue Benin-Asaba Road” event, where he defended President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and Federal Government intervention on the deteriorated highway.

According to the governor, he visited London the previous week and compared petrol prices with those in Nigeria, saying the UK price was about N3,000-something after conversion. He described Tinubu’s reforms as difficult but necessary, predicting that Nigerians would soon enjoy their benefits. Okpebholo also backed Tinubu’s continued stay in office ahead of the 2027 election, asking, “Is Aso Rock vacant?” He said Edo and Nigeria were in “safe hands” under the current administration.
