Barcelona monitoring Estevao situation as Chelsea star struggles for minutes under Alonso

Barcelona are monitoring Chelsea forward Estevao’s situation after the Brazilian youngster struggled for regular playing time under Xabi Alonso, according to Diario SPORT. The 19-year-old has played just 23 minutes across Chelsea’s opening five Premier League matches this season, with his only starts coming in the EFL Cup.

Reports suggest Estevao wants a greater role and could favour a central position, although neither he nor his representatives are currently considering a departure. Barcelona sporting director Deco remains familiar with the forward from his Palmeiras days. Estevao joined Chelsea for a deal worth up to €61.5 million, including bonuses.
