Joan Laporta ‘preparing successor’ to protect Barcelona stability after presidency

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly preparing a successor from within his camp as he enters the final term of his presidency. According to Barca Universal, citing Diario AS, Laporta is focused on maintaining financial and institutional stability after his departure. Barcelona members recently confirmed seven new board members who will serve alongside him until 2031.

Laporta, who cannot stand for another term under the club’s statutes, has also added five managers to his project. His priorities include completing the Espai Barça project and Camp Nou renovation, strengthening the squad and reducing the club’s debt. The succession plan could, however, create fresh internal tensions.
