Torpedo Moscow striker Jonathan Okoronkwo sends Super Eagles message to Eric Chelle

Torpedo Moscow striker Jonathan Okoronkwo has expressed his desire to earn a Super Eagles call-up ahead of Nigeria’s friendly against Russia on October 6. Speaking to Sport24, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer, the 23-year-old said he is hoping his performances in Russia will attract the attention of coach Eric Chelle.

Okoronkwo has scored twice and provided one assist in four appearances since joining Torpedo on a three-year deal this summer. “I’m hoping to get a call from the national team coach one day,” he said. Nigeria will face Russia in Nizhny Novgorod, with Chelle naming a 24-man squad for the encounter.
