Bayern Munich chiefs hold dinner with Pep Guardiola during Munich visit

Bayern Munich executives Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge held a dinner with former head coach Pep Guardiola during his recent visit to Munich. According to Bavarian Football Works, citing Sport Bild, Guardiola was in Germany for a Puma appointment in Herzogenaurach and used the opportunity to visit his former club.

Hoeneß confirmed the meeting, describing the relationship between the three men as a close friendship and saying they enjoyed a “wonderful evening.” Guardiola reportedly wanted current Bayern coach Vincent Kompany, who previously played under him at Manchester City, to join them, but Kompany was out of town. The meeting was described as social rather than related to Bayern’s football affairs.
