74-year-old former Kogi senator reportedly marries granddaughter’s 18-year-old best friend

Former Nigerian senator Emmanuel Dangana Ocheja has reportedly married an 18-year-old woman identified as Winifred, who is said to be his granddaughter’s best friend.

According to GistReel, reports circulating online claim the 74-year-old former lawmaker married Winifred in a lavish ceremony.

Ocheja served in Nigeria’s 7th National Assembly between 2011 and 2015, representing Kogi East Senatorial District.

The reported marriage has generated reactions online, largely because of the 56-year age difference between the couple and claims that the bride is a close friend of Ocheja’s granddaughter.

A video said to be from the wedding ceremony surfaced online. The footage was shared by film producer Seun Oloketuyi, founder and chief executive officer of Best of Nollywood Ventures.

In the video, Ocheja is seen dancing with the bride during the celebration as guests watch.

However, GistReel described details about Winifred’s age and relationship with Ocheja’s granddaughter as reports circulating online, and no statement from the couple confirming those claims was cited.
