Wayne Rooney identifies Marcus Rashford as Rio urges Ballon d’Or winner signing at Man United
Wayne Rooney has identified Marcus Rashford’s positioning as a key reason behind the Manchester United forward’s slow start to the season. According to the Manchester Evening News, Rashford has yet to register a goal or assist in six appearances since returning from Barcelona.
Rooney believes the 28-year-old is operating too far from the opposition goal, limiting his opportunities to score or create. Meanwhile, United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the club to consider signing free agent Karim Benzema to strengthen Michael Carrick’s attacking options. Ferdinand believes the 38-year-old could provide experience and a focal point while Benjamin Sesko manages his minutes.
