Maduka Okoye leaves Super Eagles camp ahead of Russia friendly
Maduka Okoye has left the Super Eagles camp and will miss Nigeria’s upcoming friendly against Russia in Moscow, according to OwnGoal Nigeria. The Udinese goalkeeper had been expected to feature in Nigeria’s recent AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau but arrived late for the first match, with Stanley Nwabali retaining his place.
Okoye was not included in the squad for the Russia fixture and has now travelled to London. The rest of Eric Chelle’s squad departed Nigeria on Thursday for the October 6 encounter, with goalkeepers Michael Atata and Samuel James joining Nwabali in the travelling group.
