Thierry Henry defends Kylian Mbappé amid criticism over his team impact
Thierry Henry has defended Kylian Mbappé amid continued criticism of the France captain’s impact on team balance, insisting the forward is not the problem. According to GOAL, Mbappé has scored 40 goals this season but remains under scrutiny over his influence on collective performances.
Henry argued that coaches must find the right tactical system to maximise Mbappé’s qualities while maintaining balance within their teams. The former France striker said this would now be a key responsibility for Zinedine Zidane as he begins his tenure as national coach. Henry also pointed to Mbappé’s previous managers at Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
