FA breaks silence on Manchester City verdict with warning over game’s integrity
The Football Association has broken its silence on Manchester City’s financial case, warning that the independent commission’s verdict has “significant implications for the integrity of the game.” According to the Sport Bible quoting the FA, the governing body is reviewing the decision and said it would take action where appropriate.
City were found guilty of serious Premier League financial-rule breaches covering nine seasons, while the club continues to deny wrongdoing and has the right to appeal. The Premier League has confirmed that any punishment will be considered separately by the independent commission. City’s appeal deadline is Friday, October 2, with the FA stressing that proceedings remain ongoing and declining to comment further for now.
