NAF releases names of 25 victims killed in Ondo air crash
The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of 25 people killed in the crash involving its ATR 42 aircraft, NAF 931, in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.
According to SaharaReporters, the aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed, with five crew members and 20 passengers on board. The NAF said no survivor had been found.
The five crew members were Squadron Leader MI Aburime, Squadron Leader AP Man-Ugwueje, Flight Lieutenant IS Bako, Warrant Officer Abubakar A and Corporal Uguru HC.
The 20 passengers included Flight Lieutenant TL Lazarus, Flight Lieutenant M Akinloye, Flying Officer IM Adeshina, Master Warrant Officer Onwuka F, Master Warrant Officer Matini BA, Warrant Officer Nuhu FS, Flight Sergeant James RB, Flight Sergeant Mohammed AI, Sergeant Ani AE, Sergeant Izibenikien SI and Sergeant Alafuka C.
Others were Sergeant Mbadugha AN, Lance Corporal Ugwuba FC, Lance Corporal Eledan GE, Mrs Ezeh Nneka, Godstmine Tarabina, Joy Micheal, Sunday Micheal, Ukeme David and Gideon Omotola.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, expressed profound condolences to the victims’ families and ordered a comprehensive investigation into the crash.
