UEFA considering charging Manchester City
UEFA is closely monitoring Manchester City’s financial case but will wait for the Premier League disciplinary process to conclude before deciding whether to take separate action, according to Sports Yahoo. An independent Premier League commission found City guilty of serious financial breaches covering nine seasons between 2009/10 and 2017/18, including five related to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
City have appealed the findings and continue to deny wrongdoing, with their challenge set to be heard by a separate three-member panel. UEFA’s potential response could depend on the final outcome, particularly because its own financial regulations contain different limitation periods. No sporting punishment has yet been imposed on City.
