Vincent Kompany insists Olise was already destined for world-class status
Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has hailed Michael Olise as a “special player” but insisted the winger’s emergence as a world-class talent is down to his own qualities. Speaking to Sky Sport Germany, Kompany praised Olise’s vision, mentality and attention to detail, saying the France international can see things others cannot.
According to GOAL, the Belgian rejected suggestions that Bayern transformed Olise into a world-class player, arguing that the 24-year-old already possessed the necessary qualities. Kompany stressed the importance of maintaining Olise’s hunger despite growing recognition. Olise’s impressive form has also placed him among the candidates for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with the ceremony scheduled for October 26 in London.
