Man Utd Goalkeeper Kit Margetson spotted in first-team training ahead of Atletico clash
Manchester United summer signing Kit Margetson has been spotted training with the first-team goalkeepers ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League game against Atletico Madrid, Vatsal Gupta reports for Football365. Margetson arrived from Swansea City to add depth behind Senne Lammens, following the exits of Radek Vitek, Altay Bayindir and Elyh Harrison.
According to United in Focus, Tony Coton, the scout who found Lammens, recommended him. Apart from Youri Tielemans, Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos, who have all made their debuts, United made no genuine first-team signing this summer.
Tynan Thompson joined from Spurs, but Margetson appears to have overtaken him. Tom Heaton was not spotted with the goalkeepers, suggesting he is not fit. Nobody expects Margetson to debut against Atletico, or even feature this season, but the report says players like him are valuable in training and can learn from Lammens.
