Chelsea open to Malo Gusto sale after €75m price tag scared off suitors
Chelsea are open to selling France international Malo Gusto, according to Sacha Tavolieri, as reported by Get French Football News. The 23-year-old full-back played considerable minutes last season, featuring under Enzo Maresca and later Liam Rosenior while Reece James’ workload was managed.
Chelsea reportedly valued the former Olympique Lyonnais man at €75m over the summer, which stopped Manchester City from making a move. Tavolieri understands Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain were also interested, but all were put off by the fee.
That price may now drop, though Gusto will not be available at any price.Gusto’s priority is to establish himself as an important player at Stamford Bridge. However, the emergence of Josh Acheampong and a lack of games, with Chelsea not playing in any European competition, could limit his opportunities this season.
