Former gang leader ‘Keffe D’ faces life sentence for Tupac Shakur murder.
Former gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis faces life imprisonment without parole as he is scheduled to be sentenced today for plotting the 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur, according to a report by Peoples Gazette.
The 63-year-old was convicted on August 31 of one count of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon. A jury in Clark County, Nevada, reached the guilty verdict after deliberating for roughly three hours following an 11-day trial.
The judgment arrives three decades after Shakur was shot four times in the passenger seat of a car on September 7, 1996, following a boxing match between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon in Las Vegas. Shakur succumbed to his injuries six days later. Davis is the first person sentenced in connection with the killing, as all other occupants present in the Cadillac that night have since died.
