ARISE News bans Anthony Kila indefinitely over alleged fake academic credentials
ARISE News has announced an indefinite ban on political analyst Anthony Kila following allegations that he falsified his academic qualifications.
The television network disclosed the decision in a statement issued by its Editorial Board and read during its morning programme on Tuesday.
According to ARISE News, as reported by Daily Post, the decision followed an investigation by Premium Times questioning Kila’s academic credentials.
The broadcaster said it contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, seeking clarification on the allegations.
“He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after,” the statement said.
ARISE News explained that the allegations had intensified, making his continued appearances unacceptable.
“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to the ARISE News Channel are no longer tenable,” it stated.
The organisation maintained that it was unaware of the allegations during Kila’s previous appearances as a freelance analyst.
“Mr Kila will not be appearing on our networks at any time now or in the future, effective immediately,” it added.
