Tinubu has flooded INEC with Yoruba people ahead of 2027 election — Dele Momodu
African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dele Momodu has accused President Bola Tinubu of appointing Yoruba people to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to influence the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday, Momodu questioned the electoral body’s independence.
According to Daily Post, the veteran journalist alleged that Tinubu’s appointments could undermine electoral credibility.
“Tinubu has flooded INEC with people from Yorubaland. I’m partly from Osun; my mother is from Osun, and I can tell you that Osun people are among the most brilliant human beings you will ever find in Nigeria, and they are very serious about their democracy.”
Momodu argued that Yoruba voters would not necessarily support Tinubu despite sharing his ethnic background.
He also accused the president of surrounding himself with loyalists.
“Ninety per cent of those in Tinubu’s cabinet today are his cronies, so the Yoruba people are suffering just like those from the Northwest, Northeast, North-Central, Southeast, and South-South.”
The allegations remain unsubstantiated.
