Meghan’s half-brother hands police boxes of alleged abuse material linked to father
Thomas Markle Jnr has handed police in Cebu City, Philippines, four large boxes of material he says contain alleged child abuse images linked to his father, Thomas Markle Snr, the estranged father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, The Sun reports.
The 60-year-old spent more than nine hours formally submitting the items, which include VHS tapes, DVDs and photographic negatives. He said they contained “hundreds, if not thousands” of obscene images.
Markle Snr, 82, dismissed the allegations as “sick lies”. His son responded: “The piles of evidence I’ve taken to the police today will reveal the truth.”
Forensic teams from the Women and Children Protection Centre are standing by to examine the material once Markle Jnr submits a final sworn statement next week. “I’m determined to cooperate . . . I’m ready to help the inquiry in any way I can,” he said.
Meghan said she was told “troubling and disturbing” claims about her father in 2018. A close friend said she is “relieved” he is being properly investigated.
