Transgender man gives birth to baby boy after transitioning

A 26-year-old transgender man, Chase Minnema, has welcomed a biological son with his partner, James Brewer, 29, describing parenthood as a long-awaited dream.

According to Newsweek, the Virginia-based couple welcomed their son six weeks ago and said they were enjoying life with their healthy newborn.

Minnema began questioning his gender identity as a teenager and started hormone therapy in 2016. He later stopped the treatment before becoming pregnant and remained off it throughout the pregnancy.

“I always wanted kids. I didn’t think I’d have one naturally,” he said.

Brewer, who had long wanted to become a father, described the experience as “a dream come true.”

Minnema said pregnancy was a positive experience despite occasional gender dysphoria. The couple have also faced criticism online over their identities and parenting.

“We are loving and caring parents,” Brewer said, adding that their priority was ensuring their son remained healthy and loved.

The couple said they hoped to raise their child to be kind and responsible, while Minnema revealed they were open to having more children in the future.
