PSG confirm successful knee surgery for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has undergone successful surgery to repair an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his right knee.
According to a report by GOAL.com, the Georgian international underwent the operation at Aspetar Hospital in Doha, Qatar, following the serious injury he sustained during PSG’s 4-2 Champions League victory over Barcelona.
The French champions confirmed that the winger will begin a rehabilitation programme as he works towards recovering from the injury. However, PSG have not disclosed a specific recovery timeline or provided an estimated date for his return to training and competitive action.
ACL injuries typically require an extended period of rehabilitation, with recovery depending on the severity of the damage and the player’s response to treatment. Kvaratskhelia will remain under medical supervision throughout the recovery process, with his progress determining when he can resume football activities.
His absence represents a potential setback for PSG, who will hope the 25-year-old completes his rehabilitation successfully before returning to first-team action. The club will prioritise his recovery rather than rush his comeback before he is medically ready.
