94 year old Israeli man dies shortly after casting vote for Netanyahu opponent
A 94-year-old Israeli man, Israel Kreis, died shortly after returning home from casting his ballot in this week’s historic elections.
Kreis collapsed outside his apartment building in Ramat Gan after being driven to a polling station by his daughter Shirley, as reported by The Independent. Shirley stated her father was determined to vote for Gadi Eisenkot, the leader of the Yashar party challenging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
”Dad really wanted me to take him to vote for Eisenkot,” she said. “I drove him to the polling station, and on the way back, as soon as he got out of the car, he collapsed and died.”
She added: “I’m very glad he managed to vote. He’s an example to all of us to go out and vote and exercise our democratic right.”
Eisenkot personally phoned Shirley to express his condolences.
