Ivan Toney to face trial in 2028 over alleged Nightclub assault
England striker Ivan Toney will stand trial in June 2028 over an alleged assault at a central London nightclub, according to BBC News.
The 30-year-old pleaded not guilty at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday to attacking Saber Da Silva at 100 Wardour Street in Soho on 6 December 2025.
Toney is accused of headbutting and punching Da Silva during a confrontation at the venue. The charge followed a Metropolitan Police investigation and was announced in July.
Judge Christopher Hehir apologised for the delay, saying: “As you may know, the crown courts are operating under a great deal of pressure. We have got a massive backlog of work for various reasons.”
The provisional trial date is 12 June 2028. Toney was released on unconditional bail following Thursday’s hearing.
