Video: Tinubu lands in Jeddah for Umrah pilgrimage

VIA ARISE NEWS ON X:

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the Umrah pilgrimage, Punch reports.

A video of the arrival shows him landing at King Abdulaziz International Airport on Thursday. He was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and Saudi Arabia’s Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.

Tinubu left Abuja for the trip after the Presidency announced it in a statement dated October 28, 2026, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The statement said he would perform the rites of Umrah in Makkah, “seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.” The Presidency said the visit gives him an opportunity for spiritual reflection and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after the spiritual exercise.
