Bayern Chief hails Bundesliga spectacle after high-stakes Dortmund draw
Jan-Christian Dreesen conceded that the Bundesliga title race has become captivatingly tight following a thrilling 2-2 Der Klassiker draw against Borussia Dortmund.
According to Bavarian Football Works, Dreesen gave credit to Dortmund’s energetic first-half display while acknowledging that severe match injuries to Ismael Saibari, Serge Gnabry, and Michael Olise further complicated Bayern’s performance.
The result leaves both German giants deadlocked at the top of the league standings.
“Obviously we would’ve liked to win. We need to be fair and say that Dortmund had some excellent chances in the first half. And with our three injuries, which I can’t say much about the severity yet, we were given an additional test.
Nobody can complain that the Bundesliga isn’t entertaining. We saw a real fight in Der Klassiker today like we’ve not seen for a long time. We’re now tied on points together at the top. Why can’t there now be an exciting title race? I personally would prefer things to be boring, but that probably won’t be the case,” said Dreesen.
