Deposed Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba Joseph Oloyede, who was convicted in the US of tax fraud and money laundering, has sued Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop the filling of his stool, but an Osun High Court in Ile-Ife adjourned the case to January 21, 2027 after hearing notices were not served on all defendants.

The deposed Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba Joseph Oloyede, has asked an Osun State High Court in Ile-Ife to stop Governor Ademola Adeleke from filling his stool, according to a report by The PUNCH.

Oloyede, the second claimant in suit no. HIF/50/2026, filed a motion on notice dated September 16, 2026. It seeks “an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants/respondents either by themselves or through their servants, agents or privies from taking any step to fill the stool of the Apetu (Apetumodu) of Ipetumodu or appoint any person in place of the 2nd claimant.”

He alleged that “there was no time the 2nd claimant/applicant was informed by the 1st-3rd defendants of any wrongdoing” before the deposition, which was reportedly signed on May 7, 2026.

Adeleke approved the removal after Oloyede’s US conviction on tax fraud and money laundering charges.

On Monday, Justice Dapo Adeniji adjourned the case to January 21, 2027, and ordered fresh hearing notices after counsel for the fifth defendant, Soji Oyetayo, said his client had not been served.
