After crushing midterm election loss, Trump makes chilling one-word hat post
After Democrats regained control of Congress and flipped Texas’s governorship and a Senate seat, Trump accepted the result and said he would work with them, while posting a “VETO” hat image and blaming Gov. Greg Abbott for his loss.
Democrats regained control of Congress by winning stunning victories in some of America’s most conservative areas, including Texas and South Carolina, the Daily Star reports.
Unlike in 2020, when he claimed the result was “stolen,” President Donald Trump accepted the outcome and said he would work with Democrats. He then posted on Truth Social an image of a hat embroidered with “VETO” in the style of his MAGA caps, apparently hinting he will block Democratic legislation, as the Constitution allows.
His posts also attacked Fox News and losing candidates. “I wasn’t on the ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!,” he wrote. Of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, he said: “If Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, hadn’t become a RINO [Republican In Name Only] in the last six months of his political life, he wouldn’t have lost. He went back to his original formula, and it wasn’t pretty!”
Abbott’s loss to Gina Hinojosa gives Democrats control of the Texas governorship for the first time since 1995. James Talarico also won the state’s first Democratic Senate seat since 1988.
