Liam Rosenior breaks silence on Chelsea sacking, claims exit had ‘nothing to do with football’
Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has suggested his dismissal from Stamford Bridge was influenced by factors beyond football, questioning the treatment he received during his 106-day spell at the club, according to the Daily Mail.
Speaking to French magazine So Foot, the current Paris FC manager described his Chelsea experience as both the best and most difficult period of his life.
“It was the best experience of my life, and the hardest, too. It was fantastic, even though it only lasted four months. I don’t want to go into details now. I’ll talk about it one day, when the time is right. But in a country where tolerance is an important value, what happened there has nothing to do with football,” he said.
Rosenior also criticised the media coverage surrounding his tenure, particularly the mockery of his clothing, communication style and tactical instructions.
“They made fun of those instructions I gave (Alejandro) Garnacho on a scrap of paper when we were down to 10 men against PSG.”
The 42-year-old was dismissed after Chelsea suffered five consecutive defeats without scoring, including a 3-0 loss to Brighton. He has since returned to France to manage Paris FC, who are competing in Ligue 1.
