FG cancels NTI’s 2026 NCE, degree admissions, warns applicants
The Federal Ministry of Education has cancelled all 2026 admissions into the National Teachers’ Institute’s NCE and degree programmes over regulatory breaches and warned the public not to apply, Vanguard reported.
The Federal Ministry of Education has cancelled all 2026 admissions into the National Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree programmes of the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna, Vanguard reported.
The ministry also directed NTI to discontinue all university affiliations and degree-awarding arrangements, saying it is not authorised to award NCE and degrees.
In a statement, its spokesperson, Boriowo Folasade, warned the public not to apply, accept admission offers or make payments for the programmes.
“The directive follows violations of the Ministerial Operational Guidelines issued on 12 September 2025,” the statement said.
“To protect innocent students already enrolled, the NCCE will conduct comprehensive accreditation of existing NCE II–IV Distance Learning programmes and study centres across the six geopolitical zones. Eligible students may complete their programmes, subject to accreditation outcomes and regulatory requirements,” it added.
The ministry said NTI’s statutory mandate remains teacher training, retraining and professional development. It urged the public to verify programme accreditation through official channels before enrolling or paying.
