Adeleke camp rejects factional leader’s backing of APC’s Oyebamiji
The Imole Campaign Council has dismissed Christopher Imumolen’s endorsement of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as a factional Accord leader whose declaration doesn’t represent the party, according to Punch Newspapers.
Spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi said INEC-recognised Accord National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem remains firmly behind Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election. The council accused the APC of recruiting “a fake entity and an impersonator” to stage the endorsement at Thursday’s Osogbo rally, calling it a “show of shame.”
Imumolen had earlier claimed Accord withdrew support for Adeleke, directing members to back Oyebamiji. Adeleke’s camp urged voters to disregard the claim, insisting Mgbudem would never endorse the APC candidate ahead of Saturday’s election.
