After 5 years in South Africa’ custody, six Nigerians extradited to US over romance scam
VIA MARIO NAWFAL ON X:
South Africa put 6 men on a plane to the U.S. over romance scams that police say drained more than $6.2M from over 100 women.
They are Nigerian nationals, arrested in 2021 and tied by the Hawks to Black Axe.
They left Cape Town in FBI and Secret Service custody on wire fraud and money laundering charges.
Pensioners and businesspeople are on the victim list.
5 years in a South African cell, and now in an American courtroom.
