Again, EFCC declares ex-pension boss Maina wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared former Pension Reform Task Team chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted over an alleged case of receiving stolen property. The declaration was contained in a notice issued by the anti-graft agency on Wednesday.

According to Vanguard, the EFCC identified Maina as an indigene of Biu, Borno State, and urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact its offices in Abuja and other locations or the nearest police station and security agency.

The latest declaration is not the first time Maina has been declared wanted by the commission. In 2015, the EFCC declared him wanted over an alleged pension biometric contracts case involving former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Steve Oronsaye, and others.

Maina was also prosecuted over pension fraud and money laundering. The EFCC later secured his conviction in 2021 on charges bordering on money laundering, fictitious bank accounts and fraud.
