Amorim matches 1963 Milan record after seven Serie A games unbeaten
Ruben Amorim has become only the third AC Milan coach to remain unbeaten in his first seven Serie A matches, matching a record that had stood since 1963. According to Football Italia, citing Opta via MilanNews, the Portuguese manager has recorded four wins and three draws since taking charge.
Amorim’s milestone followed Milan’s 3-2 victory over Atalanta on Sunday, with Gonçalo Ramos, Adrien Rabiot and Mario Gila scoring at San Siro. Hector Puricelli previously achieved the feat in 1955, winning three and drawing four matches, while Luis Carniglia matched Amorim’s record in 1963.
The victory lifted Milan to fourth in the standings on 15 points, four behind joint leaders Inter and Lazio. Amorim joined the club in June after leaving Manchester United in January.
