Anthony Gordon sparks debate as Barcelona star is branded “English Garnacho”
Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon has faced criticism from supporters following his disappointing performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
According to Chronicle Live, the former Newcastle United forward struggled during the defeat, failing to register a shot or complete any of his three attempted dribbles.
Gordon also won just one of nine duels and lost possession nine times, prompting comparisons with Alejandro Garnacho.
One supporter wrote: “I miss when I still had a reliable left winger in my team. Now I’m stuck with white English Garnacho. #Rashford”
However, other fans defended the England international, arguing that he needs more time to settle.
One commented: “With just one game, you all are already rating him down; what inconsistent fans.”
Despite his struggles, Gordon created a significant scoring opportunity and registered two key passes.
Barcelona will next face Real Madrid in El Clásico, seeking to maintain their perfect La Liga record.
