APC crisis: Desmond Elliot kneels, begs Gbajabiamila for forgiveness
Lagos State House of Assembly member, Desmond Elliot, has apologised to President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, over his conduct during the All Progressives Congress primary in Lagos, Daily Post reports.
Elliot was seen in a video kneeling before Gbajabiamila and pleading for forgiveness while seeking acceptance back into the APC fold in Lagos. “I’m sorry, I have no excuse. I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry, and I am hoping to be cultured in the future,” he said.
The apology followed a disagreement over the May primary for Surulere Constituency I, which Elliot later rejected after withdrawing from the exercise amid allegations of intimidation. Barakat Odunuga-Bakare eventually won the ticket.
