APC leaders tried to obtain Tinubu’s confidential US records…

Retired Nigerian Army Major General Danjuma Hamisu Ali-Keffi has alleged that two prominent APC figures opposed to President Bola Tinubu’s emergence as the party’s presidential candidate sought his confidential records from US government agencies before the 2023 election, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.

Ali-Keffi said he was told of the alleged move by Modibbo Hamman-Tukur, former Director of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), who allegedly caught the individuals in his office at about 2am sending requests to US authorities regarding Tinubu.

He said a response reportedly arrived from the US, though he did not know its contents. He also alleged that former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai was aware of the information but opposed its use against Tinubu.

Ali-Keffi, who voted for Tinubu in 2023, said he now regrets doing so and would not support the APC in the next election. His account does not independently establish the contents of the alleged records.
