APC sweeps all 13 chairmanship seats in Ebonyi LG election

The All Progressives Congress has won all 13 chairmanship seats and 171 councillorship positions contested in the Ebonyi State local government election.

According to Naija News, Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission Chairman Patrick Enyi announced the results in Abakaliki, describing the poll as peaceful and free.

Among the winners was Osborn Umahi, son of Works Minister David Umahi, who secured Ohaozara Local Government Area.

Other APC victories included Peace Agwu in Ishielu, Timothy Nwachi in Afikpo, Chidiebere Alo in Abakaliki and Chibueze Odigwe in Ebonyi.

State APC Chairman Stanley Okoro Emegha said the clean sweep demonstrated the party’s growing acceptance and expressed confidence it would repeat the performance in the 2027 general elections.
