Arsenal show surprise interest in Barcelona defender Jules Kounde

Arsenal have reportedly emerged as surprise contenders for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde this summer. According to Tribuna, the Gunners are monitoring the France international, who can operate at right-back or centre-back. Kounde’s future has reportedly become uncertain after his form declined last season, with Barcelona boss Hansi Flick prepared to consider alternatives at right-back, including Eric Garcia.

Barcelona are also seeking major sales to create financial room for their transfer targets, reportedly including Rodri, Julian Alvarez and Joao Cancelo. Kounde, whose contract runs until 2031, reportedly wants to remain at Camp Nou, although Arsenal’s interest could test that resolve.
