Atiku seeks court order to disqualify Tinubu over fake NYSC certificate claim

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dragged President Bola Tinubu before the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking his disqualification from the 2027 presidential election over an alleged forged NYSC certificate, according to a report by Punch Newspapers.

Atiku’s affidavit alleges the certificate submitted to INEC bears the name “Tinubu Bola Adekunle” rather than “Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” He has also asked INEC to produce Tinubu’s Form CF001 for the 2023 and 2027 elections. The suit further challenges provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, arguing they unconstitutionally restrict pre-election qualification challenges against presidential candidates.
