Boehly and Walter in Talks to Sell Chelsea stakes in £5bn deal
Todd Boehly and Mark Walter are reportedly in discussions to sell their stakes in Chelsea to majority owners Clearlake Capital, with the club valued at more than £5 billion. According to talkSPORT, negotiations have intensified amid differences over the club’s strategic direction.
Boehly is expected to step down as Chelsea chairman at the end of the season under the original ownership agreement. The discussions also come amid disagreements over Chelsea’s recruitment strategy, multi-club model and plans for a potential new stadium. No agreement has been reached, but talks are understood to have gained momentum in recent weeks.
