Carlos Queiroz leaves Ghana job after GFA mutual contract termination
Carlos Queiroz has left his position as head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars after mutually agreeing with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to terminate his contract. The decision was confirmed by the GFA on Thursday, October 1, following discussions between both parties.
Queiroz’s departure comes after Ghana suffered consecutive defeats to Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia in their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches. The Portuguese coach said ending the relationship was the most appropriate decision under the circumstances, while thanking the GFA, players and supporters for their backing.
