Carrick hints at January transfers as Man United target defensive rebuild
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed the club will explore potential opportunities in the upcoming January transfer window to continue their squad rebuild, according to a report by Sports Illustrated.
Speaking on the team’s upcoming plans, Carrick emphasized that the club intends to make the most of the winter window. “When the next transfer window comes, you want to plan and you want to make the best of it,” the United boss explained.
“Whatever that looks like at this stage, we don’t quite know. But without doubt, there’s opportunity because the transfer window is open. So we’ll definitely be looking at that and trying to come out stronger in whatever way that looks like.”
The focus now shifts toward reinforcing the defense following earlier investments in attack and midfield. United are particularly seeking a new left-back and central defender to strengthen their backline for the remainder of the season.
