Cheating doesn’t mean anything, I won’t divorce my wife over infidelity – Seun Kuti

Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has sparked debate after declaring he would not leave his wife if she cheated on him, describing infidelity as something that “doesn’t mean anything” in a relationship.

As reported by Daily Post, the son of legendary musician Fela Kuti made the remarks during a discussion about marriage and how couples respond to cheating, criticising what he described as the overreaction of some African men to infidelity.

“If my wife cheats on me, I won’t leave her because it doesn’t mean anything,” Kuti said plainly.

The singer suggested that cheating was a natural occurrence within relationships and that extreme reactions to it — particularly among African men — were unwarranted. His remarks have since generated significant reactions across Nigerian social media.
