Chelsea expect Enzo Fernandez to stay after Man City deadline passes
Chelsea expect Enzo Fernandez to remain at Stamford Bridge after Manchester City failed to submit a bid before the club’s 5pm BST deadline, according to The Athletic. Chelsea had valued the Argentina midfielder at £120 million and made clear he would not leave this summer without an offer meeting their demands.
City had considered Fernandez as a midfield target, but no proposal arrived before the cut-off. The 25-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Benfica for £106.8 million in 2023, is contracted until 2032. Fernandez is now expected to stay and work under new head coach Xabi Alonso for the coming campaign.
