Chelsea owners Boehly and Walter near deal to sell stakes to Clearlake
According to Bloomberg, Chelsea co-owners Mark Walter and Todd Boehly are nearing an agreement to sell their stakes in the Premier League club to majority owner Clearlake Capital. Talks have progressed in recent weeks, with the American billionaires expected to make a small profit from the proposed deal.
Walter and Boehly were part of the consortium that purchased Chelsea from Roman Abramovich in 2022 for around £2.5 billion. The potential transaction would strengthen Clearlake’s control of the club and mark a significant change in Chelsea’s ownership structure just four years after the takeover.
